Pics of home+great find

So it's probably going to be awhile before our home is furnished and looking cute, so for those that are curious, I am posting some pictures of our home.  I will post some new ones once we finally get our furniture and decorate and what not.  I don't think I blogged much about our apartment search-but this is the place we picked, so I guess that's what matters.  The other place we liked didn't allow kids (and while we have no immediate plans, we thought it was kind of odd) but this place does and there are some that live upstairs...so hopefully we made the right choice because we are having to get used to hearing people moving about above us all day.

our living room from the front door
view of the living room from the hall-we have a huge recycling pile we're not sure where to take
Kitchen from hallway
View of kitchen from where we will eventually have a table
our little bathroom
our bedroom-still living out of suitcases for now
This week has been pretty fun so far getting settled into our place.  John is working at home now and has his home office all set up (not pictured because he's on a conference call and I didn't want to interrupt to get a pic, but just imagine another little room with his desk and stuff in it).

I am starting to go a little bit crazy not having a job.  It didn't bother me this summer because I was still really busy helping with Debi's kids, planning the wedding, and preparing for the move.  Now that we are here, I spent a lot of my day job searching.  I have a list of web sites I check every day.  I've also been updating my resume and I am working with a nanny agency out here as well.  Today I went in to their office and hopefully there will be an awesome family interested in hiring me as their nanny.

Today I followed some signs to this farm stand I noticed the other day.  It is much more than a stand, really a little market and I was super excited!  I really like to buy local so this was a great find.  I was thinking it would just be corn and squash or just a couple of things, but they have a big farm and lots of veggies and a few fruits.  Today I just got swiss chard (what I have grown pales in comparison), grape tomatoes, and corn.  I can't wait to go back and get more fresh produce though.

Anyway, I am learning my way around and hopefully we can get out this weekend and explore a little more.

Your apartment looks super nice. I like the hardwood floors. That is kind of weird that the other place didn't allow kids. So, if you got pregnant they would just kick you out? Seems weird. The market sounds really cool, and good luck with the job search.

Thanks guys!

And yeah, we thought the no kid thing was kind of weird...but there are lots of kids in our complex and they are pretty loud so we're hoping we don't regret the decision! ha ha
