I love having a day off

I guess with a day off work, I have no excuse for not updating my blog. Today has been great because I've done nothing really. I slept in, cooked a big breakfast, and have been watching an "America's Next Top Model" marathon all afternoon. In my defense, I was really productive yesterday, so I feel good about bumming around today. I will still probably work out tonight and walk to Smith's to get a few things I need, so the day isn't a complete waste.

Anyway, this last week has been good but busy, frustrating, and fun all at the same time. Valentine's Day was rather uneventful (just the way I like it) but John and I did go to dinner. We went to this Thai place called Kamin here in Logan. I had never been there before but always wanted to go and it was very, very good. I was glad we made a reservation though because it was so crowded. The waitress even offered to take out picture, so we have that little memento.

I couldn't get Gypsy to keep her collar thing on, so I decided to get creative and made her a nylon body suit. She looks very ridiculous. It is for her own good though so her incision can heal. It was starting to look really yucky, so I took her to the vet on Saturday morning and they confirmed it is infected and so I got her some antibiotics. It has been a whole new adventure trying to get her to take them twice a day. I hope she just gets better soon so things can get back to normal.

Gypsy in her bodysuit. Its so sad.

Friday I picked up my new contacts, so that has been the frustrating part of the last few days. After nearly 12 years of wearing soft contacts, I decided to switch to hard, or gas permeable, lenses. I just wasn't seeing great, even with a new pair of soft. These first few days have been terrible. My eyes are watering and itching all the time, driving sucks, and I basically feel like I'm seeing lopsided. My sister, Rebekah, made the switch a few years ago and she really likes her hard lenses, so she's been really supportive. She keeps promising me that it will get better and soon I will love my new lenses too. I do actually see much better with them, I just need to get used to them. Luckily I decided to get new glasses (after more than 14 years) so I get to wear those for some relief.

My mom and dad came up this weekend for a family weekend at Kayla's ward. I tagged along to the dinner/talent show part, so that was fun to have some family time. They also came over to my place to sit in the hot tub, which is always a good time. It's always a treat when people come to Logan to see us since we drive down to Salt Lake so much.

I think that's pretty much it for now. I'm going to enjoy the rest of my day off, go to bed early, and have a productive 4-day week. Woot.

Bethany, good for you for taking a day for yourself. I think it's great! I think we should all give ourselves a nice break every now and then and not feel guilty about it. Good for you!

Bethany! Blogger friend! Yeah...I'm sick of myspace...I feel too old and I didn't want to get one either. I don't think I'll really update it but I'll keep it for all my single friends who don't yet realize blogging is the nerdy way of the future. How did you find my blog? I want to search for blogs but I don't know how. Embarrassing but true.
