Thanks for all of your supportive comments about my trip down memory lane and my job interview. That was a really long post, so I didn't even get around to writing about what the job interview was actually for, so rather than responding to comments, I just thought I would do a follow up post.
Anyway, the job is for a Recreation Coordinator at Bullfrog Marina in Lake Powell. The basically involves planning activities, events, and day trips for all of the employees that work there over the summer (about 250+ seasonal employees from all of the country and world). It would be a 5 day/40 hour a week job still, just not a typical M-F 9-5. I might do things like themed BBQs, movie nights, shopping trips to Walmart in Price, hikes to Capital Reef, fishing in Loa, etc etc. The possibilities are really endless...it just has to be done in one day and I would have a small budget. I would mostly be working independently and would get to be creative, but of course based around people's interests.
So I had a phone interview earlier this week and I was able to find out about the job and ask a bunch of questions. I have a second interview either next week or the week after, but they have to run a background check before they could offer the position...so I probably won't know either way for a little longer.
I think this would be a really exciting opportunity and I would actually get to use my degree and all my experience, plus it would be a lot of fun. I'm really comfortable with my life in Logan, but ultimately I want to go out and do something else. I would not get to come home to Salt Lake very often (unless someone has a cheap car that gets amazing gas mileage they are willing to sell me), so that is the biggest downside of moving down there. I would miss all of my friends and family a lot, especially because of my adorable nieces and Bekah being due right after I would leave. On the flip side, it would only be about 4 months.
So sorry, Anna, it's not a job in Salt Lake. Hopefully I'll end up back there eventually, but it will depend on how the job search ends either in May or September if I get/take this job.
If I do get the job, you all should start planning your summer vacation to Lake Powell to visit me. :-)

Sean and I really want you to get this job...we've already started to plan our trip so you really need to work there or it will ruin our sweet plans :)
That does sound like a sweet job and as long as you're only gone for a few months we can probably handle it. I was totally joking before about talking about living with me. It was a pretty long post, but I don't think it was boring at all.
I think that job sounds awsome for you. While I was reading the description I just kept thinking about Thursday dinners at Bethany's. I think you would be awsome at it!
Sounds like an awesome job! You'll have to keep me posted on how the second interview goes... if you get that job we are THERE!! JEff has never been to Powell and has always wanted to go, so now, hopefully and even better excuse!! Good luck!
Sounds like a great job that you would be perfect for. Keep us updated!
That sounds so cool. Best of luck.
