One year!

Well we officially made it through our first year of marriage.  It has been an amazing year full of lots of adventures.  It was probably slightly crazy of us to make so many changes at one time in our lives, but we are having so much fun and we are really glad we could spend this first year doing our own thing in MA.

We had a hard time deciding what we wanted to do to celebrate, and then a friend of ours (from USU, now living in Denver) invited us to visit his girlfriend's family cabin in a little town in Western, NY.  We thought it sounded fun, so we made the drive west and ended up in Pyke, NY.  The cabin was one of 3 that her family owns as well as a man-made lake and the property was beautiful.  We basically spent the whole weekend just relaxing, hanging out, fishing, eating, and enjoying the company.  It was also the weekend of the county fair, which was within walking distance of the cabin, so we spent one evening there and we got to experience our first tractor pull.  I think going in to it, I thought it would be one of those strong-man competitions where men are pulling something heavy, like a tractor, as far as they can.  But no, it's actually where the tractor is doing the pulling.  I took some video:

It was a very fun weekend, we just wish we could have stayed longer.  Thanks to Randy and Hannah for inviting us-and we hope to make it back there again someday.

It wasn't the most traditional way to spend an anniversary, but it was so much fun.  John is truly be best friend and so perfect for me.  I could not imagine a better husband and partner in life.  I am so grateful we are having this adventure together.
