2011 so far

Well good thing I didn't set a new year's resolution to blog more.  I have good intentions, I really do, but somehow I never get around to making time.  Part of it is that I have been taking most of my photos on my phone lately and I have to email myself all the photos.  I can upload them straight to facebook, so it would be nice if I could upload them straight to the blog.

Anyway, I think part of it is feeling that I've missed so much and feeling overwhelmed trying to play catch up.  So I will be briefish.  Fun things of 2011 so far:

We rang in the new year on a boat!  We decided very last minute to go on a harbor cruise in Boston.  It was very cold but a very awesome view of the fireworks.

This is us on the boat, with a view of Rowe's Wharf behind us...I swear. :-)

Later in January we traveled to Virginia to attend the Bat Mitzvah of the first little girl I was a nanny for, Erin (she was 3.5 then!).  It was so great to see her and the whole family and visit the DC area again.  Our visit was much too short, of course, but we had so much fun!

This is me riding a really long escalator at the Rosslyn metro stop.  Yes, we went out of our way to ride it. :-)
We went to the National Air and Space Museum right next to Dulles Airport, this is us in the observation tower.
we saw some cool planes

Me and Erin-I still can't believe she is 13 already!
We decided to check out the New England Aquarium.

In February we checked a new state off our list and traveled to Maine to go skiing at Sunday River.  We stayed at a really cute bed and breakfast and had a great day of skiing.  I swear everyone we tell we are from UT apologizes for the crappy east coast snow...but we had great conditions so we still love skiing/boarding.

We bought a new car (well new for us)!  We had a scare a month or so ago when the truck wouldn't start one morning.  It was super sad because we realized we don't really have any friends and we needed help.  Out sweet neighbor was nice enough to give me a ride to the rental car place, but the whole experience of being stranded and having to get the truck towed and then repaired was enough for us to decide we were ready to get a second vehicle.  We ended up getting a Subaru Outback and we love it!

We spend most of our time working but we are trying to get out on the weekends to continue to explore New England.  We are looking forward to warmer weather so we can get out some more too.  This is my boss's busy season so I am working extra and John is always busy but we are trying.  We always have time for visitors though-so start planning your trips to Boston!

Oh, and Sunday we felt like driving out to the ocean.  So we did.

You guys are so adventurous. Looks like you've done a tone of things. I can't believe how big Erin is, that's crazy.

Looks like you guys are having fun! I have the same problem with updating our blog. The further behind you get, the harder it is to update.
We have an Outback too, so as Steve would say, "You're our peeps!"
Can't wait to see you guys this summer! We'll hopefully have a baby by then!
