My first fish

So today is free fishing day here in Utah. It's basically a day they let you fish without a fishing license. I guess so you can try it out and decide if it's worth putting the money into buying a license.

Anyway, as part of my job I thought I would take a group fishing this morning. It really only ended up being me and one couple, Vern and Carol. We had a lot of fun and I caught my first fish! I did catch a fish last year on a trip John and I took to the Uintahs, but it was really little so we let it go. I am pretty excited and we are actually going again this evening to try and catch some more. John is coming for a visit next week, so I am freezing the fish and letting him help me with the cooking part because he's much better at it than me.

I also wanted to share this photo I took the other night. I wish I could really show all of you how beautiful it is here, especially at night. The sky is so pretty right around sunset (before, during, after) and then there are so many stars at night. I want to try and get some good photos with my film camera, but those are not as easy to share online as my little digital prints. I guess you are all going to have to come down here and see it for yourselves!

Well things are going well for me. My job is finally picking up a little. I have two trips this week, to Grand Junction on Tuesday and to Goblin Valley on Thursday. Plus, John is coming so we are going to go kayaking and boating and hiking-too bad I won't be getting paid for that stuff. :-) Have I mentioned I love my job?! I miss you all so keep blogging so I can stay updated!

Congrats on the fish. I really like fishing for some reason, but we always just let them go. You'll have to tell us how it tastes. I would love to live in a place like that where you can always see the stars. I'm jealous. We'll definitely have to plan a trip.
